Miami becomes the center of the art world from November 29 through December 4, 2022, hosting over 20 international art fairs, more than 1,200 galleries, thousands of artists, and tens of thousands of art lovers.

Art Miami, America’s foremost contemporary and modern art fair, and its sister fair, CONTEXT Art Miami, will kick off Miami Art Week 2022, opening on Tuesday, November 29th with an invitation-only VIP Preview evening with public days beginning Wednesday, November 30th and running through Sunday, December 4th.

Art Miami continually showcases the most significant artworks of the 20th and 21st centuries and is a “can’t miss” event for collectors, curators, museum professionals, and art enthusiasts. Distinguished for its quality, depth, and diversity, Art Miami 2022 will feature investment-quality paintings, drawings, design, sculpture, NFTs, video art, photography, and prints from more than 160 leading galleries across 17 countries.

What is the history of Art Basel in Miami?

Art Basel Miami Beach was first introduced in 2002 under the direction of Sam Keller. Miami Beach, the nexus of North America and Latin America, the show reflects the city’s multi-cultural identity, presenting a diversity of work from the galleries and artists of the region. It immediately establishes itself as the premier show in the Americas and ranks among the favorite wintertime events of the international art world. Art Positions introduces a radically new sector, with galleries exhibiting young artists near the beach in temporarily converted shipping containers. The first edition features 160 galleries from 23 countries and attracts 30,000 visitors. The show proved to be a success from the very start, attracting 16,300 visitors.
